Teaching technology in the age of AI.

AI can explain facts and definitions on demand. My contribution as a teacher is different: I bring experience, context, and a way of thinking about technology in the realities where people use it, make decisions about it, and live with its consequences.

01 / Teaching

What remains human in teaching.

Since 2015, I have taught security architecture and firewall technologies at FH Technikum Wien, where I also supervise degree projects.

Before every class, I ask what I can contribute best as a human, what I can leave to AI, and how working with it can help me be more present and responsive to the people I teach. I put experience and contextual understanding of technology at the centre of the room.

Preparing a class forces me to understand concepts and terminology deeply enough to explain them in clear, simple language. Teaching is one of the ways I keep learning.
