Gregor Koenig
Work

Leading by example.

I have already transformed the way I work with AI. My personal agentic back office takes on coordination and routine management work, giving me more room for the leadership work I consider essential: making considered decisions, setting direction, building connection, and coaching people to develop and exercise their own agency.

My own practice is the starting point for a larger question: how should technology organisations change when agents become part of the work?

01 / Current practice

Transformation is never only a technology question.

Deliberate delegation

Deliberate delegation

I decide deliberately what I delegate to my agentic team and what remains my responsibility. The agents take on coordination, preparation, and routine management work; I retain judgment, accountability, and the relationships that make my leadership human.

Direction and decisions

Direction and decisions

Clarity creates the conditions for trust. I create clarity where technical and organisational complexity could otherwise become noise: making trade-offs explicit, setting direction, and enabling people to make sound decisions within a shared frame.

Connection and agency

Connection and agency

I value clarity before harmony: the honest conversation is often the more respectful one. I build connection through coaching and a clear invitation to take ownership. My role is not to prescribe each person’s path, but to help them develop and exercise their own agency.

02 / Current role

Leading engineering teams in cybersecurity.

I am an Engineering Manager at Barracuda, leading three engineering teams in cybersecurity. I work in a field where technology and threats evolve constantly, changing how work is done. Through my leadership, I help determine whether that change creates more capability, more pressure, or more room for people to contribute meaningfully. My approach combines technical depth, leadership practice, teaching, and a coaching-informed view of human development.
